Sorry I'm so late in posting today, I got a little behind. What can I say - it's my little boy's birthday and I got wrapped up this morning making pancakes during normal blogging hours.
I really don't have a lot to share with you other than the title "Only Passing Through." I have a lot to say but since it's Friday I don't feel like hitting on all the news today. I'll simply say, "I'm only passing through."
After the news of yesterday about gay marriage in California it makes me glad that "I'm only passing through."
After hearing reports of another murder it reminds me that "I'm only passing through."
Once again I see on the news that another child has been abused - "I'm only passing through."
What's that? Another corporation has laid off workers? "I'm only passing through."
This isn't an excuse for being emotionally detached from the things around me. I simply have to keep this mindset. There are things in this world that disturb me, decisions that anger me, and difficulties that burden me. However, "I'm only passing through" and I don't have to allow these things to attach themselves to me.
The Bible teaches me that this world will pass away. So rather than staying discouraged I will remind myself that this world is not my home and "I'm only passing through."
Take this Friday and remind yourself of this awesome truth. If you know Jesus then you are only passing through as well. Let's enjoy the journey!
