A Prayer For Our Student and Teachers
Almighty God,
We thank you for those within our church body who have chosen the vocation of teaching our children. I realize that many of these people believe that they are called to this type of work. As they prepare for children to return to the classroom tomorrow I lift them up to You.
Lord we ask that you give each of them the ability to see these young people as You see them. May they have a heart to teach and reach them. May they be an expression of Your love, Your goodness, & Your mercy. I pray that this will be a year that they can see You actively working in the school system.
Lord, I also pray for these students. Some are returning to the same school while others are moving into new arena's. We ask that you give them the grace they need to adjust to their new schedule. I pray that they will be a witness to their friends, classmates, and teachers. I pray that you will keep them safe throughout the year.
Father, I also pray for those who home school as their job never ends. They are always with their students. I pray that these parents will have the wisdom needed to give the education that their child needs. I also pray that you will continue to enrich the homes of these who have taken on the responsibility of educating their children. I pray that each of us as parents will understand that wherever our kids go to school that it is our job to teach them - to be active in their lives - and to be responsible for what our children learn.
I thank you Father that we can entrust these adults and children into Your care. You truly are a great God.
