Back from Thailand

Hello PBC Voice friends. I'm back from Thailand with some great news to report.

Tuesday of last week I boarded a plane with Ron (missions pastor) and flew to Thailand to meet up with some dear missionary friends. The time in flight alone keeps a lot of people from visiting this beautiful country but we were on a mission of encouragement.

I ask you to bear with me since I cannot mention all of the particulars of this trip. Names, locations, etc. cannot be shared due to security issues. However, for those of you who know the couple I speak of, you will be excited to hear that they are doing very well.

This was the first trip of its kind for PBC. Our mission wasn't about evangelism or church planting. This trip was to bring encouragement and edification to a couple who are seeking to fulfill God's plan for their lives. We spent the first few days simply hanging out and sharing about the events of the past year. Ron and I were blown away by God's provision and providence in the lives of these dear friends. God has manifested Himself to them is amazing ways. A greater intimacy with the Spirit of God, signs and wonders, healing, dreams, visions, etc. Truly Awesome!

The need for encouragement was simple: this has been a very tough year for this couple. Although God has manifested Himself in great ways - personal and medical struggles dotted the map of their experiences. Thailand was simply a place of common ground where we could meet and share. Their appointment is in an undisclosed location and we have tried to share throughout the year concerning the medical and physical difficulties.

The Apostle Paul spoke frequently about those who refreshed him and were refreshed in the ministry by God's people. This trip was about refreshment and that is exactly what we all received. By the end of this 8 day journey my heart was full and my spirit energized. God is quickening His work in Asia and has a good many people called to His work there. However, the mission field is still white with harvest and the need for laborers is still great!

We finished the trip with a couple of days meeting with workers in the region where our friends minister. Worship was a truly unique experience and the teaching/encouragement that we all received was great. I was truly humbled by the presence of God as well as the passion of these missionaries.

The beauty of the land is just one of the memories that I will carry with me. But the greatest memories came from times of sharing and prayer. We witnessed God bringing physical healing and spiritual edification. Prophetic words, encouraging insights into His Word, and the manifest presence of God were incredible. To God be the glory!

I pray that God will continue this work in our friends. I also pray that God will continue to draw the people of Asia unto Himself. May we see in our generation the salvation of the Asian people groups.
